Campaña de UNAFUT
Durante la jornada #12 del torneo nacional, se llevó a cabo la décima edición de la campaña Respeto, No al Racismo la cual marcó un esfuerzo continuo y destacado de la Unión de Clubes de Fútbol de la Primera División (UNAFUT), en colaboración con organizaciones claves como el Fondo de Población de las Naciones Unidas (UNFPA) Costa Rica, UNESCO, la Coalición Global Contra el Racismo, el Centro de Mujeres Afro y America Free Zone.
Como parte de la campaña se realizó un conversatorio sobre la importancia de erradicar el racismo y que contó con la participación de la Dra. Victoria Ross, presidenta de UNAFUT; Juan Luis Bermúdez, jefe de oficina de UNFPA Costa Rica; Giselle Burbano, representante de la UNESCO; Epsy Campbell Barr, fundadora de la Coalición Global contra el Racismo; Ann McKinley, presidenta del Centro de Mujeres Afro; y los futbolistas, Armando Caya Alonso y Rudy Dawson.
La campaña buscó aprovechar el poder del fútbol para promover la unidad y la sensibilización contra el racismo y la discriminación. Este esfuerzo coincide con el cierre del Decenio Internacional de Afrodescendientes de las Naciones Unidas y destacó el compromiso continuo de UNAFUT, única liga en el mundo en sostener una campaña antidiscriminatoria durante diez años consecutivos.
